This winter more than 100,000 people in the U.S. will be hospitalized for severe influenza. Nearly 40% of them will die. People over 84 are at the highest risk of dying from flu complications. People over 74 face the second highest risk, with children under age 4 in third place, and people over 60 in fourth place. Should the predicted Avian Flu epidemic break out, all bets are off.
