All eggs are the same—or are they? To test your knowledge on this topic,
answer the following multiple choice question (there might be more than one
correct answer):

When buying eggs, which of the following things should you consider?

a) Fresh eggs that you might be able to buy at a Farmer’s market taste
better than conventional eggs from the grocery store.

b) It is always better to buy the large or jumbo sized eggs.

c) Brown eggs are nutritionally better than white eggs.

d) Certified organic eggs are best because they come from hens that eat
organic feed, are allowed access to the outdoors and sunlight, and are
inspected to make sure the rules are followed.

e) Conventional eggs are more likely to be contaminated
with salmonella.

Answers a), d) and e) are true.

Explanations:
Answer b) is false because eggs contain more cholesterol than any other food, and therefore it is better to buy the smaller ones.

Answer c) is false because the nutritional value of brown and white eggs is identical and in blind tasting tests, they taste the same.

If you got all three answers correct, you are an egghead!

c) Brown eggs are nutritionally better than white eggs.

d) Certified organic eggs are best because they come from hens that eat
organic feed, are allowed access to the outdoors and sunlight, and are
inspected to make sure the rules are followed.
